Playground
Every model we offer, each with a page of its own — what it makes and what it costs, the one composer to make with it, and what you made with it there.
Playground is where you try any model we offer — ours and the catalogue's, of every kind. It opens on All models, and a card opens that model's page, which is built like Photos, Video, Music and 3D: the rail on the left, the model's results in the middle and the composer docked under them. Everything you make here is also in the Library, with what every app made. On a phone Playground is under More.
#All models
Every model Playground offers, one card per model family — Seedance, Kling Video, GPT Image — rather than one per address. The rail narrows it by what a model makes: All models, Pictures, Clips, Sound, 3D, Text and Tools, each listed while it holds a family, and the search at the top finds a model by its name, its maker or what it does. On a phone the same places are a row of chips over the grid.
Each card shows a work our team made with that model or, where we have none yet, its maker's mark in the same box; then its name and maker, how many versions it has, what it makes, and the price of its recommended version at its default settings — the figure Generate says before you change anything. A model your plan does not include carries Not on your plan, and its card opens your plans. Only what runs is a card: a model that cannot run right now is not listed.
The ⓘ on a card, or ⌘K, opens Choose a model over the grid, with each model's modes and their prices; choosing a version there opens its page with that version in the composer. On a computer the first page of the whole catalogue opens with a band of featured models, each over a work our team made with it, whose Generate opens that model's page.
An address no card holds — one a remix or an older window named — opens All models searched for it, with a line that says it can't be tried in Playground yet and Read its reference.
#A model's page
Every model's page has the same frame, whatever it makes — a picture, a clip, a song, a 3D asset, an answer or a cut-out.
- The rail. All models to go back (⌘[), New draft, and the three tabs Photos, Video, Music and 3D have — Results, Drafts and Community. Under Results are its places: All, and, only while they hold something, Running, Failed, Expiring soon and Made with the API. Its foot says how long results are kept.
- The head. It names the model once, says how many results the place holds once they are counted, and shows them as Grid or List.
- The model band. It heads Results: the model's picture, its maker and how many versions it has, our note on it, the facts of the version the composer is on, every mode with its price at default settings — a chat model's says up to how many credits one answer may hold — and Use in your code. On a phone the modes and prices are behind Modes and prices.
- The composer. It is docked under the page, on every tab.
On a phone the tabs head the page, and the bar at its foot opens the composer.
#Results
What you made with this model in Playground, newest first, drawn as Photos, Video, Music and 3D draw their results: a tile per result, opened in place in a viewer with what its kind offers — its next steps, Download, Publish, Show in Library — and Use these settings, which puts what made it back in the composer. A press of Generate brings you to All, where the new result waits as a tile until it lands.
What you make here stays here, and what you make in Photos, Video, Music or 3D stays in that app: a picture you make on Krea 2's page is on that page and in your Library, and not in Photos. A catalogue job none of those apps would show — a written answer, a caption, a label — is listed on its model's page wherever it was made; one an API key made waits under Made with the API. Until there is something, the page says Nothing here yet under the band.
A result is deleted by the house's one rule, in Playground as in the Library.
#A chat model
A chat model — our own, and the catalogue's language models that also run in Messages — answers one prompt per press, in the same composer, and keeps no thread: a conversation is what Messages is for. Its card has the prompt box, a Thinking chip where the model has one (Light, Balanced or Deep), and in More its Instructions, which it reads before your words every time, and Longest answer. Generate says up to how many credits the answer may hold: that much is set aside when you press it, and the answer is charged what it cost, the rest given back. A shorter Longest answer holds fewer.
While the answer arrives, Stop stands beside Generate: going to another page, tab or window does not end the turn. On our own chat models, Stop — or closing or reloading the browser tab — ends it. The answer lands in Results as a tile, and its viewer offers Copy, Use as prompt where the answer is a prompt or a description, Use these settings, and Delete, with Undo for a moment after.
Open in Messages, in the same viewer, opens Messages on that model with your words in its box, to carry on there as a conversation.
On our own chat models a stopped answer is charged for what had reached you, with its prompt.
On a model another company runs, its maker writes the answer to its end: once we have sent it your words, Stop, a dropped connection or a closed tab no longer ends the turn. The answer is finished and kept — the tray says so, and Open the answer opens it in Results — and is charged as the finished answer, for its prompt and what it wrote, never more than the credits set aside for it when it began. Stopped before we sent them, while the turn is still being prepared, it costs nothing. The most each case can cost is in the chat settlement table.
The catalogue's other language models run as catalogue jobs: Generate prices one as it prices every catalogue model, its answer lands in Results as a job's does, and it cannot be stopped once it is sent.
#Drafts
A model can hold several drafts, and the composer shows one of them: the current draft. New draft starts another on
this model. The Drafts tab lists every Playground draft, the most recently changed first, each under its name with the
version and mode it is on; choosing one opens it on its own model's page, and its menu renames, duplicates or deletes it.
How many you may keep is your plan's limits.external.max_drafts in GET /v1/plans (or
Account → Plan & Billing → Compare plans, for a plan the pricing page does not list).
A draft is saved to your account as you type, so it is there after a reload and on your other devices; the dot on its row says how that stands. If it was changed on another device, a banner over the page asks which version to keep before anything is saved: Keep what's on screen saves yours over the other, and Load the other version loads it and offers Restore my version. A draft your account does not take — one past your plan's drafts, or one too large to keep there — is on this device only, and the line over the page says why. A file you added to a draft comes back with it for as long as uploads are kept. A draft nobody has changed for 7 days is deleted from your account, as every draft is.
#Community
The works published to the Community with this model, as every app's Community tab shows them. A language model's tab says that answers aren't published to the Community.
#The composer
The composer is the one Photos, Video, Music and 3D use, docked as a card. Its model chip opens Choose a model: every model Playground offers, with your plan's locks — a locked one opens your plans — and none that cannot run right now. Choosing another model moves your draft to it, with what you wrote kept wherever the new model has the same mode, and the page follows. The version and the mode are the card's own controls; More holds the rest of the mode's fields — only that mode's, and only those are sent — and Reset.
Generate says what a press costs before you make it: the exact figure for our own models, about how much for a catalogue model priced by what it makes, up to how much for one that holds a ceiling and charges what it cost, or covered where a pass or your plan pays. A model of ours runs here at its own price and on its own plan, exactly as in its app.
#Use in your code
Use in your code, on the model band and in More — in Photos, Video, Music and 3D too — shows the request Generate
would send right now, ready to copy: the address it goes to, the scope a key needs and where the result is read; the same
call as cURL, Python, JavaScript and MCP, with your keys beside it; every field the model takes; and its full reference. It
is read-only and follows the composer as you change it. No key is printed — $AURAY_API_KEY stands where yours goes — and a
file goes as an upload, so the request marks where yours goes. A chat model's shows the same press as
/openai/v1/chat/completions takes it, through our OpenAI-compatible door.
#Adding a file
A mode that takes a file gives it a place in the card. A picture's, a clip's or a sound's place opens Upload, Library and Results: a file from this computer, something in your Library, or a result of this session. A 3D asset's, or any other file's, opens Upload and Results. A file from this computer goes through the three calls Uploads describes: the composer asks the API for somewhere to put it, puts the bytes there directly, and fetches the signed read URL the request carries.
#Stopping a job
A catalogue model's job cannot be stopped once it is sent: it finishes, and is charged for what it delivers. A chat model's answer is not a job, and Stop ends it, as above.
