Cinema Studio
A film made shot by shot in a project — its brief, its elements, every take, a canvas, and the film editor that joins the shots and lays the sound under them.
Cinema Studio is the desktop app for films. A project holds one film's shots, references and notes in one place, kept until you delete it; each shot is made with the picture or video model you choose, and the film editor joins them into one video. The AI Director works inside a project too: it plans the film with you, makes what you approve and lays out the cut. On a phone Cinema Studio is the Studio tab.
Which plans open Cinema Studio and the AI Director, and how many projects, items, elements, canvases and members each holds, is in the comparison on the pricing page.
#Home
The rail on the left opens on Home, then My generations, My elements, Favorites and your Projects.
- My generations is everything you made with any model, inside a project or outside one. A result there is kept for 7 days; Add to project… puts a copy in a project, kept until you delete it.
- My elements is every element you made, wherever it is kept.
- New project makes a project: a name, a description, and everything you make or add in it is kept until you delete it.
#A project
A project is Private — only you can open it — or Team: the people you invite open it too, each as the role you give them (Owner, Admin, Collaborator or Viewer), from Members in the project's settings, by email or by a link. Each member pays for their own generations from their own credits; the project's usage adds up what each spent there.
Its pages are down the rail:
- Project brief — the film's brief in sections: why it exists, what happens, the visuals, the production, its status. The AI Director reads it and writes in it when you ask.
- Elements — the characters, places, props, voices and styles this film keeps the same from shot to shot.
- Folders — your shots, sorted. Deleting a folder keeps what was in it in the project.
- Canvas — a board of nodes wired together: prompts and uploads, generators of pictures, clips, voices and music, an upscale, an edit, notes. A run says what it costs before it starts, and an unchanged result is used again at no cost.
- Film — the project's films, below.
- Trash — what you delete stays here until you restore it or delete it for good.
#Making a shot
The composer is the card at the foot of the project. Choose what to make — Video or Image — describe the scene, and
choose the model, the camera and its moves, the light and the colours. In the prompt, @ brings in an element and # adds a
camera move. A clip can carry its own sound: the sound of the scene and the lines spoken in it, each with its speaker. The
card says what a generation costs before you start it, and what you make lands in the project's grid, where a result opens in
a viewer.
#Elements
An element is something you make once and name in any prompt by its handle, so it stays the same in every shot: the Elements page has a tab for each kind — Characters, Locations, Props, Voices and Styles. Copy handle puts its handle on the clipboard. A change is a New version…, and the earlier versions stay; Archive keeps an element without offering it in prompts. An element can be kept in one project only; otherwise it is among My elements, for every project.
- A character, a place or a prop is made from pictures or a short clip, a name and a few words about what never changes. A character may speak with a voice: Speaks with names the voice the AI Director reads its lines in when it makes them as sound for the film's dialogue lane; a clip that speaks a line itself speaks it in a voice of its own.
- A voice is a speech model, one of that model's own voices or a voice described in words, and its language. Make a sample makes a line in the voice, so you can hear it; it is charged as any speech the model makes, and kept in the project as a sound too. A voice is one of a speech model's own voices or one it makes from words; the one sample it keeps, if you keep one, is a sound made here or a recording you uploaded, under your account's acceptance of real people's faces and voices.
- A style is a look: pictures of it, or none, and the look in words. Every shot that names it carries those words. Use on every shot of this project has the AI Director use it on every shot it makes in that project, in place of the style it used there before; a shot you make yourself names it by its handle.
#The film editor
Film holds the project's films. Start a film, then Add clips from the project: they go in the order you choose them. Each clip keeps the part between its two trim handles — the clip itself is never cut — and joins the clip before it by Cut or Fade.
Under the clips are the film's sound lanes: Narration, Dialogue, Music and Sound effects. Add narration, Add dialogue, Add music and Add sound effects lay sounds of the project from where the film stands; drag a sound along its lane to move it, or its edges to trim it, and set its level and fades.
Each clip's own sound is set on the clip: Mute this clip, Clip volume, a Sound fade of its own or with the picture, and when its sound comes in — Sound starts early, under the clip before it, or late, letting the clip before it run on under this one. For the whole film there are Lane levels, Lower music under narration and Lower music under dialogue, and the Loudness the exported film is made at: Streaming, Louder or Broadcast. The preview plays the mix as it is laid.
Export film makes the film one video in the project's Film folder, ready to play, download and publish; exporting is free. A film that changed since its export says so, and Use as the project's film makes the export the project's cover, which plays at the top of its page once you publish it. A film whose clips or sounds include something taken down, or held while a report is looked at, is not exported, and the editor lists what stops it.
#Publishing
Publish shows the project in the Community: the folders and items you choose, and — if you turn them on — the prompts each was made with, the canvases you choose, and the credits it took. A project marked discoverable can appear in the Community's feeds and search once our team approves it.
